OPTL supply advanced production equipment and process technology to the Electronics
OPTL’s aim is not to reduce defects but to help to eliminate them.
The OPTL Hot Air knife has been developed to reduce solder bridging in the wavesoldering process.
Pyrometer Control Systems
OPTL have developed a range of pyrometer control systems to interface to most reflow, selective and wave soldering machines.
It is particularly important for selective soldering machines where the applied temperature may change according to the temperature increase of the mass surrounding the preheater section. The maximum temperature cannot be exceeded, therefore temperature sensitive components are protected. In addition the applied flux will not be overcooked thereby reducing the likelihood of variable
The pyrometer systems are designed to add further control to the temperature profile prior to soldering. The system provides on line policing of the maximum
It is fitted immediately after the final soldering wave and applies focused hot air onto the bottom of the soldered board removing excess
The OPTL hot air knife can be retrofitted to most wavesoldering machine types.
In the Background, watching your Selective and Wave solder Fluxing process
Poorly maintained fluxing systems and blocked nozzles are a continuous problem to the selective and wavesoldering process.
Many circuit board assemblies can be processed before the problem becomes known, resulting in very high defect rates.
The OPTL Exact flux flow monitor has been designed to overcome this problem. It will accurately measure the quantity of flux applied to each circuit board.
Upper and lower limits can be pre set by the process engineer so that if too little or too much flux is applied then an alarm will sound. Additionally, the system can be interfaced directly to the soldering machine to stop the machine before defects are produced
